The Houston Treasury Management Association (HTMA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the Treasury Management profession in the Houston area. Its mission is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, to improve contemporary treasury management techniques, and to educate its members.
HTMA membership is available to individual practitioners involved in treasury/cash management. Treasury professionals who have retired or become unemployed, as well as educators from institutions of higher learning, may join as associate members. Service and product providers are not eligible to be members.
The Association's membership, about 200, includes treasury professionals from many industries, such as energy, health care, utilities, retail, manufacturing, and government. Members bring with them a diverse range of special interests and unique ideas as well as experience and solutions to situations other members may encounter.
HTMA strives to improve treasury management by holding at least five meetings a year for its members, associates, and guests. Dinner Meetings include dinner, guest speakers and ample time for networking with fellow members and are accredited for up to 1 CTP credit per meeting. A selection of various guest speakers provides a full range of treasury topics including government regulations/proposals, developments in banking products/services, cash collection and disbursement methods, fraud issues, investment strategies, foreign exchange, derivative instruments, trade credit, and risk management. HTMA also hosts three social events each year, including the Summer Social and Holiday Party!
